So... it's the new year and everyone has the same resolution... which is to get in better shape. That was mine last year and yeah, I did get in better shape than I was but I'm still not where I want to be (which is the VS angel look) so it is now my new years resolution to get in even BETTER shape. I'm not planning on looking like a VS model by the time swimsuit season comes around (although that would be fab) but I do want my legs to be pretty toned again along with the booty and my arms (and the stomach being a little flatter would also be nice). There was a point in my life prob a year ago this time of year where I would go for a walk or run at least 5 times a week and I shed a lotof inches off the bod and my legs/butt were super toned then I stopped cause school took over my life and then once things calmed down I just didn't get back into the flow of working out everyday. All my friends left for college and I was home alone doing absolutely nothing everyday. Then I told myself I needed to get active again so I did the 30 day squat challenge it was fab and did wonders. Then the next month I tried to do the 30 day squat challenge again along with doing the 30 day ab challenge. That lasted about 2 weeks then I would just forget. Two months later I started school, then a month after school I started working whenever I wasn't in class. The days go so quick when I'm constantly doing something everyday and I felt like I didn't have time to workout then one day I really sat down and thought about when I could start again and how I was going to do it.
First things first I thought about what I wanted to do, did I want to just completely be a workout/diet freak and try to shed everything and most likely go crazy and then eat burgers and pizza one day cause I can't handle such a big change so fast? Did I want to just target one area? Multiple areas? Or just get moving everyday? I decided I wanted to tone my legs, butt, stomach, back, arms and shoulders (so basically everything) it sounds hard but its not most leg workouts tone multiple muscles and your butt at the same time along with most arm toning your chest and shoulders and not really worry about numbers or inches I just wanted to stop the jiggle, then once in better shape get back on the hard core running 3 miles everyday thing. When doing the first 30 day challenge it was easy cause I was bored and had nothing to do and new to me, but it got boring so I stoped. So I wanted to do a diff workout everyday but I can never remember diff workouts on the top of my head and once I sit down on Pinterest to look up a workout I get distracted by other pins for hours. So this is what I did:
The Actual Project:
I took three stacks of different colored sticky notes each representing an area I wanted to focus on.
I cut them up into tiny strips, each one can make three but I chose to only use 2 out of the three cause the top strip has the sticky backing. On each pink strip I wrote an ab or back workout (for example crunches), Green strips have leg and butt workouts and blue strips have arm and shoulder workouts. I found a lot of the workouts on a blog called skinnymom.com. I decided that everyday this month I will pick one of each color strip so I can hit all my focus areas everyday. Then next month do two of each color a month.
I wrote Jumping Jacks at least once on every color just a surprise quick cardio for the day along with "Go For a Run" on a couple random strips.
It's honesty so much fun to make and to do! You won't get bored with your everyday workout and it only takes a few minutes! I didn't write the number or length of time I should do my workouts (like 30 squats) cause I know what my average is and what I can do to push myself some days. I know I can comfortably do 30 squats so on a day where I don't really have a lot of time or I'm sore I'm just going to do 30 if I feel Gucci and can keep going I'll add another ten.
I hope this helps you out and have a Happy New Year!
